Alan Moore (ENG)
As well as the founder of the business and communications company SMLXL, Alan is an author of several books including, Communities Dominate Brands: Business and Marketing Challenges for the 21st Century. Amongst other plaudits Communities Dominate Brands has been described as prescient. He is recognised as a great distiller of complex arguments into their most salient points, who can take concepts from many sources and find the previously hidden relationship between them. He has a firm grasp of the changes which are reshaping our world. With his insight on the interlocking trends of; media, culture, communication and commerce, Alan enables companies to develop winning strategies for how businesses and organisations can succeed in the early 21st Century.
Alan is currently working on his next project: No Straight Lines: making sense of our non-linear world. A project that investigates the complex and interwoven relationship between: people, identity, society, communications technology, and commerce and explores how we can design innovative ways to solve some of the intractable dilemmas we face – publication due 2011.
As a well known writer, thinker and public speaker Alan has addressed, radio, television, and conference audiences globally. Reviews of his books and his articles have been published in many respected magazines, journals and newspapers.
Alan acts as Head of Vision and Chief Evangelist to the worlds first venture fund, funded by a global community GrowVC. He is an advisor to the revenue sharing mobile marketing company, Qustodian, a mentor on the Springboard startup accelerator programme, and also mentors at The School of Communication Arts, he sits on the board of inspiration at the Dutch Think Tank Freedom Lab. He is a visiting lecturer at the Cambridge University Judge Business School, and at the Oxford University Saïd Business School including Exec Ed programs. Alan is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
