The trust gap between traditional media and search engines is even more pronounced among millennials.
Google may be the go-to for perusing aggregated news (probably because it’s simple and thorough), but hopefully we all recognize that we’re searching through stories written by other websites, like The Guardian, Quartz and The Atlantic . So, not Google’s content. Still, we are being fed whatever Google deems worthy of their news sources, so in a way we are reading what Google wants us to read. You have to admit, they are good at what they do.
