The development of Artificial Intelligence, which is likely to speed up in the near future, will bring forth new and complex questions to which no legal system in the world has an answer. It is therefore necessary for the legal community to begin to consider the answers.
Catastrophic damage from anything unmanned (cars, drones, planes) begs the question “who do we blame?” And should we allow unmanned vehicles or processes to be used in delicate situations? And who decides what “delicate” looks like? We are coming upon a time when humanity’s ethics will be strongly tested and questioned. The sooner we make at least general laws regarding hugely important ethical issues, the better.
